FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions concerning exterior home repairs.

How much does a new roof usually cost?
On average, a homeowner can expect a new roof to cost $6,000 – $7,000. A home that is 1,500 square foot or smaller is usually around $4,000 – $5,000
Do you offer financing?
We accept all major credit cards and offer financing starting at $64 dollars a month and as low as a 580 credit score.
How long does it usually take to install a new roof?
Most roofs can be torn off and installed in one day. It can take an extra day if your roof is very large or steep.
Is it less expensive if I install new shingles over my existing ones?

At most, you may be able to save $100- $200. However, this installation does not allow us to inspect the wood underneath the pre-existing shingles to determine if they are bad or rotting. Also, we can only offer the 50-year factory warranty if we adhere to the strict guidelines during the roof installation process. This type of installation doesn’t allow our clients to feel assured that they won’t need to worry about their roofs again.

How do I know if I should replace my roof?
If your roof is older than 15 years you should get it replaced. If your roof is newer than 15 years old, but you suspect damage you can visually inspect it from the ground. Look for dark streaking on your roof, or shingles that look shiny when the sun hits them. If your roof seems to give off a reflective sheen in the sunlight this can indicate granule loss. You can always call us for a free inspection.
How do I know if I have storm damage?
We recommend having your roof inspected after there has been a strong storm in your area. Sometimes it can be difficult to identify storm damage without a proper inspection. If it seems like several houses in your neighborhood are getting new roofs, it could be a good indicator that your roof was also damaged. If your home was damaged during a storm your insurance may cover the repair.
If I have a leak, should I expect a big bill?

Some leaks are less expensive to fix. If there is a simple solution you could be looking at a repair for under $200. We recommend getting estimates from several different contractors. A good contractor will admit that they are busy, but some contractors will charge you more because they are busy.

How do I know if I can trust my contractor?

There are several things you can look for while selecting a contractor. First, you can check with the Better Business Bureau for listings. Once you have selected a contractor, you can ask them about recent jobs they have completed or even ask if they have references.

Here are a few things to look for. Most good contractors will not ask for any money down, this gives the homeowner complete control over the project.  A good contractor will complete the project in a timely fashion. Contractors should provide a copy of their insurance before working on your home.

What’s the best way to set up a consultation or an appointment with a roofer during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Social distancing is an important practice to adopt during the covid-19 pandemic in order to stop the spread of the virus. It’s important that the roofing company you are looking to hire is following safe social distancing guidelines. We are taking the proper precautions by performing contact-free estimates or video chat estimates. Please note we have to do roof inspections in person, but will take all precautions to observe social distancing practices. We are also adopting online forms and payments in order to avoid any cross-contamination.

Can I use digital payments to pay for roof installation, replacement or repair?

We accept all forms of online payment service providers such as PayPal, Zelle, Google Pay, and Square Cash. These forms of payments allow for transmission-free transactions. We also have competitive roof financing available.

Does a roofer need to enter my home?

Not usually. The majority of the work takes place on the roof or around the edges of the roof where the roofing material meets the walls of your home. However, there may be some cases where a roofer needs to inspect the roof on the inside. This might be due to damage on the inside or to look for electrical outlets. If a roofer has a question while they are working, we can use video chats, photos, and emails. If any work needs to be done inside, we will be vigilant about adopting social distance guidelines as well as disinfecting the space afterwards.

Do roofers offer remote or virtual services?

We can schedule a video call and show potential clients different project ideas as well as review costs of labor. We can also hold a virtual consultation and discuss different roofing materials, as well as discuss the best time to commence the roofing project
