What kind of roof problems require a roof repair?

Roof Leaks – The most common of all problems. Property owners can spot a roof leak as soon as rain, snow, hail or a storm hits the area. Roof leaks lead to rot and mold.

Water Ponds – You’ll notice water ponds forming on roofs after a rain passes or snow melts. Ponds forming on your roof may be a sign of a gutter problem or leveling of roof due to a poor installation.

Faulty Installation – Unfortunately, these are common when hiring the cheapest roof installers in the area. So called “roofers” trying to use band-aid material to save on costs and cut corners can come at a larger expense to the property owner. We provide a free roof inspection when you call us.

Improper Installed Flashing – Flashing is applied in any area of your roof that has been penetrated during an installation. Poorly applications or cheap materials used can cause penetration and punctures on your roof.

Penetrations – This is most often caused by hail storms and heavy winds knocking trees or by bringing debris. We recommend having your roof inspected after your property has been hit by any heavy wings or hail storms, in most cases your insurance will cover any repair or roof replacement costs.

Improper Maintenance – Your roofer should have notified you of maintenance protocols to keep the lifespan of your roof healthy after it’s been installed. If you purchased your property and never have had any problems with your roof, we strongly recommend getting a free roof inspection to see if there’s anything you should be concerned with in the future.

Most roofs can be torn off and installed in one day. It can take an extra day if your roof is very large or steep.

  • How do I know if I should replace my roof?

If your roof is older than 15 years you should get it replaced. If your roof is newer than 15 years old, but you suspect damage you can visually inspect it from the ground. Look for dark streaking on your roof, or shingles that look shiny when the sun hits them. If your roof seems to give off a reflective sheen in the sunlight this can indicate granule loss. You can always call us for a free inspection.

  • How do I know if I have storm damage?

We recommend having your roof inspected after there has been a strong storm in your area. Sometimes it can be difficult to identify storm damage without a proper inspection. If it seems like several houses in your neighborhood are getting new roofs, it could be a good indicator that your roof was also damaged. If your home was damaged during a storm your insurance may cover the repair.
